Christmas in Heaven

Christmas In Heaven

2008 words and music by Jeremy Johnson and Paul Marino

December hasn’t changed
This town looks the same
They still light that tree in the city square
There’s red, white, and green shining everywhere
And I wish you were here
And I wonder . . .

Is the snow falling down on the streets of gold?
Are the mansions all covered in white?
Are you singing with angels Silent Night?
I wonder . . . what Christmas in Heaven is like

There’s a little manger scene
Down on Third and Main
I must have walked right by it a thousand times
But I see it now in a different light
Cause I know you are there
And I wonder . . .

Are you kneeling with shepherds before Him now?
Can you reach out and touch His face?
Are you part of that glorious holy night?
I wonder . . . .what Christmas in Heaven is like

The hustle and bustle of Christmas has begun. Just yesterday at work we got Christmas quizes to do at our cubicles during down time. The trees and lights are going up, and eggnog is being served. During this time of good tidings, some families are facing the first Christmas without a loved one. I know that this little island alone suffered much loss over this past year. And the smile might not be as ready knowing that there will be an empty chair around the table.

While we are busy making merry perhaps we can take the time to send a card or make a phone call to a family that is hurting. Letting them know that people care and are thinking of them. A little kindness goes along way.

Merry Christmas everyone…
