Do you know your value?

Knowing your value and believing your future doesn’t have to be defined by your past were two primary themes from the book I just finished. It was called Reggie by Reggie Dabbs & John Driver.

This book shares funny anecdotes and heart wrenching stories of a man who overcame adversity. He overcame to share the simple and powerful story that God is the ultimate Father. To let the youths know that they are valuable and have a future no matter what their past. He now speaks to thousands at high schools, rallies, and conferences always with encouragement and watching for the one that God wants to touch that night. I don’t want to tell to many of his stories as so many will make you laugh and some might even cause you to reach for a kleenex.

Many of the stories were so touching, I constantly found myself sharing portions of the book with my husband. It was a quick and entertaining read, and while the message was simple it was written very powerfully. Even as someone who has grown up in the church it is great to be reminded of the amazing truth of how much God really loves us. I loved his example of Gomer in the book, if you read it you can’t miss the story!

I would highly recommend this book. Fast read and a great reminder of God’s call on our lives. “You can’t change your past, but you can change your future.”
